NEW CAYMAS CX 20 DELIVERS
UNCOMPROMISING FISHABILITY AND PERFORMANCE

Ashland City, Tenn. – December 3, 2019 – Caymas Boats, the bold new fishing boat brand led by legendary marine industry pioneer Earl Bentz, has announced the second in its CX series of revolutionary tournament bass boats: the CX 20. Geared toward hardcore tournament anglers who demand uncompromising fishability and blistering performance, this awesome new Caymas model promises to make waves on the cast-for-cash bass fishing scene.

The Caymas CX 20 spans 20 feet 4 inches in length, making it exactly one foot shorter than the company’s flagship CX 21 tournament model…yet it shares the exact same super-wide 96-inch beam as its longer cousin, meaning there’s zero sacrifice of either deck space or storage capacity! When paired with one of today’s hot-performing 250 HP four-stroke outboards, the CX 20 threatens to smoke the competition in the race to the best bassin’ holes. Serious anglers are also discovering that this sleek 20-footer is perfectly sized for sneaking into shallow backwaters where unpressured lunkers lurk. Coupled with a fuel-efficient 4-stroke outboard, the CX 20’s hyper-efficient hull design and 50-gallon fuel capacity mean extended cruising range and fewer time-consuming fill-ups for anglers competing in multi-day tournaments on large bodies of water.

Surprisingly, livewell design has lagged behind other advancements in tournament bass boating, but Caymas has set the bar in bass care and transport higher with its Hi-Speed Livewell Pickup System — an ingenious innovation that actually pushes water into the CX 20’s massive independent livewells once the boat is on plane. This proprietary livewell system gently cradles your catch during those long runs to the weigh-in stand, assuring Caymas anglers that their bass will stay in prime condition from the instant they’re caught to the instant they’re released.

With the outboard industry rapidly trending toward heavier 4-stroke engines, and with twin anchor poles, four batteries, onboard charger and a high-capacity fuel tank all standard equipment on today’s tournament boats, Caymas again takes the lead by designing the hulls of its CX-series bass models to lift that heavy payload quickly and carry that added weight smoothly and efficiently. To accomplish this impressive weightlifting feat, Bentz and his engineering team moved the consoles on the CX 20 and 21 forward slightly, while “over-engineering” their transoms for maximum strength and structural integrity. Coupled with the state-of-the-art Caymas hull, the result is a bass boat that rockets out of the hole, leaps on plane and delivers a cloudlike ride in rough water.

The Caymas CX 20’s sleek, ergonomic design and massive 96-inch beam translate into enhanced interior room and comfort, acres of deck space and warehouse-like storage capacity. The front deck, padded for all-day casting comfort, houses cavernous dry storage compartments for rods, tackleboxes and gear. The roomy rear deck contains the spacious livewells, two extra-deep storage boxes and a utility hatch allowing easy access to batteries and pumps. All compartments are hand crafted of waterproof fiberglass. Standard equipment on the CX 20 includes a powerful 36-volt Minn Kota Ultrex trolling motor with Spot-Lock, 4-bank onboard battery charger, capability to flush-mount large electronic units at both console and bow, and a premium tandem axle drive-on trailer with brakes, maintenance-free hubs and a swing tongue for more compact garage storage. A complete list of the CX 20’s standard and optional equipment is available online at caymasboats.com.

Caymas Boats founder Earl Bentz, a former world champion boat racer and a member of both the Bass Fishing and National Marine Manufacturing halls of fame, traces his career back to the earliest days of high performance bass boat manufacturing, when he joined Nashville-based boatbuilder Hydra-Sports in 1975 as a performance consultant. Bentz subsequently founded the Stratos, Javelin and Triton bass boat brands, guiding each to industry leadership positions with a combined sales of over 200,000 boats. He formed Caymas Boats in 2018 in Ashland City, Tennessee with the goal of building the finest bass boats on the water. Today the dedicated Caymas work force consists of 130 skilled men and women with over 2000 combined years of boatbuilding expertise.
